Why do you offer a Free 30 Day
Trial Program? (top)
We are confident that you will benefit from our programs so we offer a no hassle,
no obligation Free 30 Day Trial Program. Your first class is by Appointment
Only and is a private class where our Program Director will take you on a
tour of our school, help you fill out a Personal Analysis Questionnaire and
show
you the benefits of training at Karpiuk's Black Belt Academy.
How much does it cost? (top)
On average, a full time professional martial arts school
will cost between $100 and $120 per month tuition. Our tuition
is both reasonable and competitive and we have programs for
most every budget. We consider ourselves a "Family" school
and offer discounts for additional family members.
Yes, there are clubs that offer classes for around $40 -
$50 per month. And many of those have excellent instructors.
The difference? Many clubs are run by martial artists that
work full time jobs and teach as a hobby. Unlike a full time
professional school like ours, they can't always offer flexible
class schedules, top of the line training equipment and safety
floors, assistant instructors and staff that continually
upgrade their martial arts training and education
What About Eastern Mysticism?
(top)
A lot of martial arts do include eastern mysticism and even
elements of the occult. Taekwondo does not generally fall
into that category and is based more on modern day physics
mixed with age old self defense techniques. Mr. Karpiuk is
a committed Christian and is careful not to bring in any
questionable philosophy to his teaching. He started his training
at Baptist Bible College where he graduated with a degree
in Secondary Education. His instructor and mentor is Master
Tony Isaacs who teaches Taekwondo in Florida where he is
the Associate Pastor of Perine Baptist Church.
Are you available for Demonstrations?
(top)
Mr. Karpiuk and the demonstration team is available to perform
for church youth groups, school groups etc. where Taekwondo
is used to speak to individuals on such topics as Drugs & Alcohol,
Peer Pressure and Self Confidence. Mr. Karpiuk is also available
for "Show & Tells" within the regular school
classroom.
Is it necessary to attend all
my child's classes? (top)
You and the instructor can make this judgment together.
Our Staff of Instructors are committed to increase your child's
level of concentration and confidence. It is not necessary
that the parent attend every class. The child must learn
to concentrate, which sometimes can be difficult when the
parent is in the room.
Besides Self Defence, what will
my child learn? (top)
Mr. Karpiuk and the staff of instructors know how impressionable
children are and their goal is to teach children the tenets
of Taekwondo (respect, discipline, courtesy, honour, integrity,
self control and perseverance ) and instill in them self
confidence to meet the challenges this world has to offer.
Karpiuk's Black Belt Academy uses the ATA Life Skills Curriculum
to achieve this. Students continue, throughout their training,
to improve themselves mentally as well as physically. The
following definitions describe the mental goals which are
